| An astrologer once told Rose Lobel that the stars were at war with
themselves on the day that she was born. She leans toward believing this,
since a series of mishaps during her birth has left her dealing with cerebral
palsy.
Nonetheless, she has become a poet, a prose writer (under the name K. R. Lobel) a single mother, and quite possibly the world’s only voice-disabled radio programmer (she does a music show called What’s New on radio station KZSC in Santa Cruz, California.)
