| My Summer
Vacation text
below

|
These long-light days
I sink fingers to earth
The trade-wind hours
Slanted sun
Carry ancient voices
I feel the village
Eyes rising pair by pair
A salt-brine breath
The Spaniards arrive
On my cliff
Acorn grinding stops
From this side of centuries
My heart is touched
I understand
Shock
Wonder
Fear
All has changed
Yet nothing changes
My lungs expand
Fog and sun kiss my skin
I return
2008
